Cationary tales from a life lived twice

Remember

How much random sex we used to have

Back when we hated our bodies

And drank until dawn.

Wild nights, clothes off,

10 km walks home

Because we weren’t

Super sure

Where we were.

Where we were going,

Where we wanted to be.

Jumping off a bridge was still a consideration back then.

We had to survive,

That was the rule.

If only as a cautionary tale, right?

But.

Butt,

Still,

Off a roofie or not,

We learned.

Two steps forward

And one step back

Is still progress.

As long as

And only if

You keep taking the next step.

Go ahead

and get down, baby,

You will get up again.
